Boryeong Mud Festival

I feel bad about not keeping up with this blog, but honestly, besides this past weekend, nothing noteworthy has happened. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It’s just been “business as usual” around here.

Last weekend, we went on an overnight trip to the Boryeong Mud Festival with a local volunteer organization (the same organization that we have been learning Korean through). It was really fun! We left Daegu by bus on Saturday morning. It was a four-hour trip, but it wasn’t bad at all. We stopped twice — once for a short restroom break and again for lunch. I think I’ve mentioned this before, but Koreans really know how to design rest areas. Continue reading

Teacher, how do you spell ‘die’?

Blah. That’s how I feel. Blah. This particular “blah” encompasses a wide range of emotions: homesickness, uncertainty about the future, restlessness, apathy and general irritability.

“If you’re bored, you’re probably being boring.” Indeed. I have been quite boring these past two weeks. Actually, last weekend was pretty fun. We went out Friday night. Then on Saturday, we had Korean class then got Star Kebab with Gina and saw “Cabin in the Woods,” which was really, really bizarre. Continue reading
